Has anyone else been struck by the audacity of these criminals? The fact that they not only managed to escape from prison but did so by kidnapping the warden is just chilling. It's a grim reminder of how desperate and dangerous people can be when cornered. What shocks me is how things escalated to a full-on gun battle near Redfield. It must have been a terrifying and intense situation for the posse involved. I can't even begin to imagine how Sergeant Moore's family felt knowing that the individuals responsible for his death were out on the loose again, even if briefly. It's a sad commentary on the chaos that ensued in law enforcement circles at the time. Glad they eventually saw justice served, but I feel for the families caught in this web of violence.
