Has anyone else looked into Deputy Sheriff Jim Ray Carlton's story? What gets me every time is thinking about his two young sons losing their father in such a violent way. It must have been beyond difficult for them to process losing both parents under such tragic circumstances, especially knowing their dad was trying to uphold the law and protect the community. I wonder how they coped in the years following and what kind of support they received. Has there been any information on how the community rallied around them or if any extended family stepped in to help? It's unimaginable the loss those boys must have felt. Hoping some justice brought them solace, but it's a heavy heart situation for sure. Would love to hear if anyone else has found more details about the family's journey after this incident.
