I've been following the case of Carl Hamilton's murder and something that's baffling me is the sheer audacity of "Big Jim" Hall's crime spree. It seems so reckless and brazen that he confessed to multiple murders, including Carl’s, for what amounts to so little money in the grand scheme of things. Less than $300! It makes you wonder what drives someone to such extreme violence for so little gain.
I can't begin to imagine what Carl's family went through, especially with no immediate leads at the beginning. And then the shock of discovering their loved one was killed in a spree that included Hall's own young wife and others. It must have been terrifying for the whole community during those years. My heart goes out to all the victims’ families who lived through that nightmare before getting any answers.
I've been thinking a lot about Carl Hamilton lately, especially how terrifying it must have been for his family and friends when he just disappeared. Living in a small community like Camden, folks know each other, so his sudden absence must have sent ripples of worry through everyone who knew him. It's chilling to think how his life was cut short over something as trivial as money. Imagine how different things might have been if “Big Jim” Hall had never crossed paths with him. My heart goes out to Carl's family, even after all these years. No one should have to endure this kind of senseless loss. Curious if anyone knows more about the community's response or what happened there in the aftermath?
