I've been reading up on the tragic loss of Chief Doyle Holstein, and what really strikes me is how deeply woven he was into the community. A man who served the Ola Police Department for over 23 years must have had a profound impact on those around him. It's heartening to see that Ola has a tradition to remember him every August 6th. His dedication and service seem to have left a lasting legacy, not just with his family, but with everyone in Ola. I can't help but think about his family, especially his wife and children, having to carry on without him. While the annual memorial is a beautiful tribute, I imagine the day-to-day reminders and memories are what really keep his spirit alive in the community. Does anyone here have personal memories of Chief Holstein or have attended the memorial service? It would be nice to hear more about how his legacy is honored each year.

Does anyone else find it incredibly moving how the community has rallied together to keep Chief Holstein's memory alive? I recently read about the annual memorial service held every August 6th, now known as Chief Doyle Holstein Day. It's such a poignant way for Ola to honor his lifetime of dedication and sacrifice. Considering he served the community for over 23 years, he must have touched countless lives. The fact that his legacy is celebrated every year shows how much he meant to the town. I hope his family finds some solace in seeing how deeply he's remembered and missed. ?️
