Has anyone else been following the case of Gustavo Funes Flores, the migrant who went missing back in 2021? I've been reading about it, and it's really concerning how these migrant journeys are so risky and perilous. I read that Gustavo was separated from his group because he couldn't keep up when they were going through Brooks County. I can't believe the guide just left him and the others behind. It's such a desolate area... it breaks my heart thinking about how many people risk their lives in these harsh conditions with no one to help if something goes wrong. I really hope someone comes forward with information. Anyone else have thoughts on how this could have been prevented or what more can be done to ensure the safety of migrants?

Has anyone else been following Gustavo Funes Flores' disappearance? I keep thinking about the situation he was in, being left behind while trying to make that difficult trek through Brooks County. It's troubling to think about the dangers faced by migrants in those remote desert areas. From what I've read, his group didn't or possibly couldn't wait for him, likely assuming Border Patrol would step in to help. Yet, here we are, more than two years later, and he's still missing alongside the two others he was last seen with. I'm curious if there have been any updates on search efforts or new leads in the case. Also, does anyone know if there are specific rescue operations focused on searching the land between McAllen and Falfurrias? Seems like these regions need more resources dedicated to finding individuals who might have been left behind, but I haven't seen much about it in the news lately. Let's keep spreading the word and hope for any bit of information that might bring answers.
