I've been following the ongoing discussions about Deon A. Virges' tragic passing, and something that’s been on my mind is the environment where this happened. East 75th Street is no stranger to violence, and it breaks my heart to think about how Deon, so young and full of potential, was caught up in this. I can't imagine the fear and confusion he must have felt in those last moments trying to find safety. Keeping his family and friends in my thoughts during this unimaginably difficult time. Hopefully, the investigation uncovers the truth and brings some form of closure to those who loved him. Does anyone know if the community has come together to address the violence since then? I feel like more support and unity could help prevent future tragedies like this.
