Forum Posts for Orpheus O Washington: Be respectful. Abuse of these forums will not be tolerated.
Has anyone else come across the community programs that tried helping out in Humboldt Park around the time Orpheus Washington was killed? It’s been troubling me. I remember hearing about a few initiatives that aimed to reduce violence through youth engagement and intervention strategies, and it's devastating to think that even with those efforts, tragedies like Orpheus's still happened. He was described as a respectful and laid-back guy, so the fact that he was caught up in this violence is just so upsetting. Are there any local initiatives that have seen success since 2016? It seems crucial for those communities to have effective support, and I'm hoping that efforts are being made to prevent more senseless loss of life. Thoughts or updates would be appreciated. Stay safe, everyone.
