I've been reflecting a lot on the role of community support in times like these. It seems like everyone in Dumas has come together to remember Floyd Evans Jr. and support his family. I didn't know Floyd personally, but from what others have shared, he seemed like such a caring father and community member. It's clear he left a positive mark on those around him. I'm sure this is a tough time for his family and friends, especially for his children and grandson. I hope they're finding some peace in the outpouring of love and support from neighbors and friends. It can be hard to find words during such difficult moments, but it's good to see that the community isn't letting this tragedy pass without notice and is using it as an opportunity to foster dialogue about safety and gun violence. If there's anything the rest of us can do to support them, I hope those close to the family will let us know. This community is stronger together, and we all need to lean on each other right now.
