I’ve been diving into the tragic case of Addonis Johnson and can't shake off the thought of the profound ripple effect his murder must have had on his community and loved ones. Auburn Gresham has seen far too much pain from these senseless acts of violence, not to mention the constant fear and trauma the residents must endure daily. It just breaks my heart thinking about how families like Addonis's have to navigate life after such a loss. It seems like they not only have to fight for justice amidst the low clearance rates but also try to carry on with the reminder of someone taken too soon. I've read about some local initiatives pushing for more community engagement and resources, but is it really making a difference? For the sake of Addonis and others like him, I truly hope we see some meaningful progress soon. Sending thoughts of strength to those who knew and loved him.
