It’s so distressing to hear about Elijah’s case. I’ve been following the situation in Humboldt Park, and the community really did band together to remember him with those vigils – such a testament to the strength and compassion of the people there. It’s frustrating and disheartening that many cases like Elijah's encounter roadblocks because of uncooperative witnesses. It’s understandable people are afraid to come forward, but I wish there was a way to make them feel protected while helping bring justice to Elijah and his family. If anyone’s familiar with efforts to improve witness protection in these neighborhoods, I'd love to hear more.
