Has anyone else looked into the circumstances around Governor Keith Neville's decision to grant William Hunt an indefinite furlough? I can't stop thinking about how Marshal Wake's family must have felt when they heard the news. Losing a father and husband in such a senseless act is already so devastating, but to see the man responsible eventually walk free? It just feels like such a disservice to the memory of someone who dedicated his life to public service. I'm curious if there was something specific about Hunt's behavior in prison or other pressures at play that influenced this decision. It's hard to imagine what could justify something like that, especially considering the loss the Wake family endured. If anyone has more insight or resources about the context of this furlough, I would love to understand more.
