I've been digging through the details of the Starkweather-Fugate case, and something that really gets to me is the fate of Robert Jensen's car. It's devastating to think that what was probably just an ordinary day for him turned into something so tragic. This car, which likely carried precious memories and represented freedom for him, became a tool in a horrifying crime spree. I can't imagine the agony and disbelief his family must have felt when they discovered that the car, something once cherished and familiar, was used in such a way. It's the kind of detail that really drives home the randomness and senselessness of the violence they faced. My heart truly goes out to their loved ones as they remember Robert and Carol, constantly haunted by how a simple act of kindness ended in such tragedy.
