Has anyone else been researching Deputy Donaldson's case? I've been deep diving into some old newspapers and came across a detail that caught my attention. It seems there was some confusion about how the suspect managed to get a revolver on him while being searched. Was it a lack of protocol back in those days, or just an unfortunate oversight? It's just so tragic how swiftly things can turn when someone is doing their duty. My thoughts are with Deputy Donaldson’s family—what a tremendous loss they must have felt, especially considering how small and tight-knit communities were back then. If anyone has more insights or additional details on how the suspect was finally caught, I'd love to hear about it. This case really has me intrigued!
