Does anyone remember the old story about Constable Andrew Sheppard's badge? I came across a mention in an old newspaper article from the 1920s that his badge was missing after the tragic incident and never recovered. Some folks around Bisbee have speculated that it was taken as a kind of "trophy" by the perpetrators. It makes me wonder if this could be a crucial, overlooked piece of the puzzle. Was it ever found? And could it still be out there somewhere, holding some clue to the identity of the shooter who escaped justice? My heart goes out to Sheppard’s family—it must have been extremely difficult to not have all the answers about his death. Such a brave soul, lost while trying to protect the community.

I’ve been reading about Constable Sheppard’s tragic murder, and I can’t stop thinking about his bravery, especially in those last moments. He was there to protect his community, and despite the grave danger he faced, he managed to pass his weapon to Charles Long, allowing him to continue the pursuit. It's incredible how he maintained his composure and presence of mind even when gravely injured. I feel deeply for his children, growing up without their father must have been so difficult. The resilience of Sheppard’s family and their ability to carry on in the face of such loss is truly inspiring. They must be proud of the legacy he left behind. Have there been any recent efforts to get justice for him or any memorials in Bisbee to honor his service and sacrifice?

Does anyone else find it incredibly upsetting that we still don't know the full outcome of the investigation into Constable Sheppard's murder? It's such a tragedy for his family and the community of Bisbee. I can't imagine the pain his children must have felt losing their father in such a horrific way. It's also so frustrating that the second suspect was never extradited from Mexico. It feels like justice was never fully served. I hope that over time, more information comes to light and there's some closure for his family and the community that still remembers Sheppard’s bravery and sacrifice.
