Anyone else think about the impact this must have had on Deputy McMurren's family? It's hard to imagine the grief they must have gone through, losing a husband, father, and grandfather so suddenly. From what I've read, Deputy McMurren had quite a history of service, not just in law enforcement, but also as a veteran of the Korean War. It’s clear that he spent his entire life dedicated to protecting and serving others. I keep thinking about those six children he left behind—such a huge loss. I hope that receiving the support from the community and seeing their father's name honored in memorials provided them with some comfort over the years. It’s a stark reminder of the dangerous situations officers face daily. To those who continue to serve, thank you for your courage and commitment.
