I've been thinking a lot about the symbol Randy marked on Stanley Sandage's truck window. An "X" feels like a chilling detail, and I can't help but wonder what it signified to him. Was it some kind of twisted calling card, or was it meant to signify that the truck had been "targeted"? It's eerie to think about the mindset of someone who could coldly mark a symbol and proceed with such violence. I also find it sad and difficult to imagine the fear and confusion Stanley must have felt in those last moments. Rest stops should be a place of safety for drivers like him who are just trying to make a living on the road. It's frustrating how that trust can be shattered in an instant by people with no regard for life. Thinking about the families too—the Sandage family and even the Greenawalts'. While justice was served in terms of legal outcomes, nothing can ever truly mend the void that such a senseless act leaves behind. Let's keep the memory of Stanley alive and continue to question the motives and meanings behind these violent acts. It might help prevent future tragedies by raising awareness of the real dangers people faced (and still face) out on the road.

I was reading through some old cases and the tragic murder of Stanley Edward Sandage really struck me. The fact that he was just doing his job, trying to earn a living by being on the road, only to be met with such a terrible fate is just so unsettling. As someone who has family in the trucking industry, it’s a reminder of the real risks that come with the territory. Thinking about how the Greenawalt brothers acted so brazenly after the crime is disturbing. Using Sandage's credit card like that—did they really think they'd get away with it? It’s good to see that Randy decided to plead guilty and help bring some clarity to the situation, but it’s troubling how this doesn’t change what happened. I really feel for Stanley's family and those who knew him. They must have been shattered to learn about what happened at that rest area. It’s heartening to know that collaborative efforts among law enforcement brought justice, but it doesn’t fill the void left by his loss. It’s cases like this that remind us of the importance of keeping our highways safe for everyone.

Does anyone else find the "X" marked on Stanley's truck window particularly chilling? It's like it was a premeditated signal or some sort of twisted ritual. My heart goes out to Stanley's family and friends who have had to carry that image for all these years. It just adds another layer of cruelty to an already senseless act. I'm grateful for the investigators who worked tirelessly to capture those responsible, but it doesn’t erase the eerie image of that "X". What do you all think? Was it a scare tactic, a sign between the Greenawalt brothers, or something else?
