Has anyone else looked into the potential effects that this case might have had on hotel security standards in the 1980s? I can't stop thinking about the fact that Harding managed to pose as a security guard to get into Robert Afton Wise's motel room. That feels like such a huge loophole, especially since it ended in such a horrific tragedy. I'm curious about what La Quinta or other hotel chains did to improve security measures after this incident. Did they upgrade their protocols for verifying security personnel or strengthen their guest safety practices? It's devastating to think of how vulnerable Wise and Concannon were. Hopefully, something positive came out of these senseless acts to prevent future tragedies. My heart goes out to all the families involved; I can't imagine the lasting impact this has had on their lives.

Hey everyone, I’ve been reading through the details of the Wise and Concannon case, and something that really stuck with me was the level of premeditation Harding must've had. While we're all too familiar with how Donald Eugene Harding posed as a security guard, what leaves me wondering is his ability to mastermind his entry into their motel room. I mean, did he plan this meticulously, or was it a spur-of-the-moment decision? That takes a certain level of cold calculation, and it's spine-chilling to think about how he managed to gain their trust just long enough to attack. My heart goes out to the loved ones of Robert Wise and Martin Concannon. It's unimaginable what they went through back then and the emptiness they must still feel. Sometimes it’s easy to get lost in trying to understand the criminal mind and forget there's a whole circle of people shattered by these acts. Has anyone else dug into how Harding prepped for this? I'd be really interested in hearing your thoughts. Take care, all.

I can't stop thinking about the poor families of Robert Afton Wise and Martin Concannon. Their worlds must have been turned upside down when they received the news. Business trips are so routine for most people, just an ordinary part of their work week, yet this one ended in such a horrific manner. Can you imagine the shock and devastation? It's terrifying to think someone could pose as a security guard and carry out such a brutal act. It seems like Wise was just trying to conduct his business, and by all accounts, he was a responsible businessman and a decent person. It's unsettling to think how people with such malignant intentions can just slip into our everyday lives. My heart goes out to everyone who knew and loved these men. They didn’t deserve such a fate. I hope they’ve found some peace over the years. Does anyone know how their families are doing today?
