Hey everyone, I wanted to share some thoughts on the quieter side of this tragic case, specifically on the impact on the university community at the time. It must have been really tough for the students and faculty who knew Corporal Kevin Barleycorn personally. Imagine attending classes or working on the same campus where this horrible event happened, knowing that someone who was dedicated to protecting you lost their life in such a devastating way. I read that he was the first university police officer in Arizona to die in the line of duty, which, in a heartbreaking way, made his death even more significant. It put a spotlight on the risks campus officers face—something a lot of folks might not think about daily. After his passing, I wonder how the university approached campus safety and what changes might have been implemented. Did any of you study or work at the University of Arizona during that time? How did the student body and staff cope with this loss? Would love to hear your thoughts or any stories you might have. Sending strength and support to all those who knew Corporal Barleycorn.
