I can't stop thinking about the bravery Lieutenant Elkins showed during this harrowing incident. It's truly something that stays with you, knowing he made that 911 call describing the situation, trying to ensure help would arrive while he was under threat. The fact that he referred to Hudson as "an agent who's gone 918" speaks to how clearly he was processing the chaos around him, even in such a terrifying moment. It must have been incredibly hard for his family to learn how courageously he acted, knowing how much he cared about protecting others even at the ultimate cost. Such acts of heroism highlight the sacrifices officers in these situations sometimes make, and it's something we should never take for granted. Rest in peace, Lt. Elkins.

Hey everyone,
I've been thinking a lot about Jim Ehrhart, the evidence custodian who was with Lieutenant Elkins and Sergeant Crowe on that tragic day. It's unimaginable what he must have gone through. Being there, witnessing such horror, and somehow managing to escape... the emotional impact must've been immense. We often focus on the officers directly involved, but Ehrhart's experience deserves more attention and empathy. Surviving that kind of trauma can be isolating, and I hope he received the support needed in the aftermath. This aspect of the case really shows the ripple effect of violence, reaching those who survive and leaving lasting scars. Thoughts and prayers to everyone involved.
