I stumbled across the memorial page for Amanda and Bonny Oliveras today, and it's just so sad to see a little girl and her mom taken away so soon. Seeing the messages people have left over the years really hits home. It’s a reminder of how much love there was for them in their community. What really got me was how Amanda would’ve been in her twenties by now. I can't help but wonder what kind of person she would have grown up to be. Seeing a community come together even years later is moving, but it’s also frustrating that their case seems to lack justice. I hope someday soon her family can find peace, knowing the full story and seeing justice served. For now, I’m lighting a virtual candle in their memory and holding their loved ones in my thoughts. It’s moments like these that make me think about how important it is to remember them, so they continue to touch lives even after they’re gone.
