I'm still wrapping my head around the immense courage it must have taken for George Morris to try and protect Dorothy during the shooting. It pains me to imagine the situation they were in. It's a testament to their deep bond and love that even in such a chaotic moment, George’s instinct was to shield his wife. Their long life together, moving around the world and facing countless adventures, speaks volumes about their partnership. It’s incredibly unfortunate that such a vibrant and loving soul as Dorothy’s was lost in this senseless act of violence. My thoughts are with the Morris family as they navigate the incredibly difficult process of moving forward without her.
I recently found myself reflecting on the life of Dorothy "Dot" Morris, and I just can't get past the incredible journey she must have had. Born in Reno and living in so many different places over the years, from Berlin to Hawaii, it’s clear she embraced every opportunity with an adventurer’s spirit. I respect how she navigated those changes, supporting her husband and building a life together in so many different places.
What strikes me most is the strength of the bond she shared with George. Imagine meeting your life partner at a high school dance and creating a lifetime worth of memories together. Their partnership seemed deeply rooted in mutual support and love. It's beyond tragic that such a strong woman, who had given so much to her family and community, met with such a violent end.
I'm sending all my thoughts to George Morris and their family. Losing such a cherished person is an unimaginable pain, and I hope sharing Dot’s story reminds everyone of the beautiful life she lived. Let’s keep her spirit alive by celebrating her kindness, her passion for life, and the unwavering love she showed to those around her.
