Just wanted to take a moment to talk about the impact that Everick Dukes' murder had on the community. It's so sad to see someone like him, who had people that cared for him, become another statistic in this wave of violence. What really strikes me is how these incidents keep happening in places like Lawndale, where residents are already facing so many challenges. It's like these neighborhoods never get a break. I'm wondering if any local initiatives have started since then to try and change things for the better. It feels like the voices of the community need to be amplified more than ever. I'm hoping some positive change can come from such a tragic loss. Does anyone know of any community leaders or programs that have been making a difference?
