I’ve been thinking a lot about the role of Drew Ryan Maras in this case and how it connects back to his time as a Marine. It’s so unsettling to consider how someone trained to protect could turn to such horrific violence. It makes me wonder about the support systems in place for veterans, especially when they transition back into civilian life. Could there have been warning signs or opportunities for intervention that were missed? It doesn’t take away from the tremendous loss this community feels with Deputy Coleman's death, but understanding what led Maras down such a dark path might help in preventing future tragedies. Sending my thoughts to Coleman’s family and all those grappling with this loss. ?
