I came across this case and couldn’t stop thinking about the impact of domestic violence that may have taken place here. The loss of Nancy Trejo Torrez and Silverio Acebedo has visibly shaken the Union City community. I’ve read that domestic violence situations can escalate suddenly, and it’s chilling to think about what might have unfolded in those moments. The fact that it’s being investigated as a potential murder-suicide fills me with so many questions about the warning signs that might have been missed and what more can be done to prevent such devastation in the future. Does anyone know if there were any prior incidents involving these two, or if friends or family are sharing any insights that might help understand what went wrong? My thoughts are with their loved ones during this incredibly difficult time. Any awareness we can bring to domestic violence prevention might be a way to honor their memory.
