I've been thinking a lot about how the communities we live in can change so quickly. It's unsettling to imagine a typical night turning into something so tragic and irreversible. Susan Henson's loss is something that none of us who live nearby will forget anytime soon. Just knowing she and Gabriel Todd were trying to address a nuisance that so many of us deal with, only for it to escalate to such extreme violence, is chilling. It makes me think about the fragility of our daily interactions and how important it is to support each other. I hope that Susan’s loved ones find some peace and that the community remembers her for the kind person she was described to be. Sometimes, it feels like all we can do is lean on each other and hold those we care about a little closer. This incident is a reminder that we need to come together and support the victims’ families, not just through the GoFundMe, but with genuine empathy and collective action.

Has anyone else read about the candlelight vigil that the Gresham community held for Susan Henson? I attended it and was truly moved by the sheer number of people who showed up to honor her. It's clear that Susan was loved by many in her community. The stories that people shared about her kindness and the way she always looked out for her neighbors were incredibly touching. It's such a tragedy to lose someone so community-focused and caring. I spoke briefly with her mother, Rhonda, who expressed how much it meant to see that support. It really makes you wish that more of us could have known Susan while she was alive. It’s moments like these that highlight the importance of community support and standing together during tough times.
