Has anyone else noticed the alarming number of cases where people get left behind in these border-crossing situations? Werner's story is especially concerning. Eight days through the desert? That's a long trek, and he got sick and was just... left? It's hard to wrap my head around how someone in a group could just be abandoned like that. I know it’s tough out there, but what are the dynamics here? Is it every person for themselves once something goes wrong? I'd love to hear anyone's insight on how often this kind of thing happens and if there are any known survival tactics for someone left in such a dire situation. My thoughts are with his family during this difficult time.

Hey everyone, I came across some discussions about Werner's case, and something's been on my mind. Does anyone have info on the weather conditions between Sonoyta and Gila Bend during late July 2021? I'm thinking extreme weather could have played a role in him getting sick. With those desert temps, dehydration or heatstroke seems like a possibility. Has anyone connected to organizations that monitor these crossings shared any relevant insights? I’m really hopeful someone here might have some more context or resources to share. Let's keep the dialogue going and see how we can help Werner's family get some answers.

I’ve been following Werner’s case for a while now, and something about it just doesn’t sit right with me. I’m wondering why the others in his group left him behind when he got sick. I mean, it seems odd that there was no effort to get him some help or even stay with him until he felt better. Even in harsh conditions, wouldn’t you look out for one another? If anyone has experience with similar scenarios, I’d be curious to hear your thoughts. Could there have been more to the story that we’re missing?
