I recently came across this tragic case involving Shawali Sherali, and I can't stop thinking about how difficult it must be for his family to process such an unimaginable loss. The fact that he had moved his family from Afghanistan, hoping to safeguard their future away from the turmoil there, only to face this senseless violence, feels unbelievably cruel. As a Lyft driver, Shawali was simply trying to make an honest living to support his growing family, and it's devastating that this happened in the pursuit of doing just that. If anyone is in the area, perhaps we can organize some community support around that GoFundMe or lunch delivery for his family. It would be a beautiful gesture to let them know they are not alone during this difficult time. It's just so disheartening to see yet another family torn apart by gun violence. My heart really goes out to Shawali's wife, kids, and the baby on the way. They deserve peace and security, not this grief and turmoil.
