Anyone else deeply moved by the way Lauri's family has come together during this unimaginably difficult time? I just read an article quoting her daughter, who spoke so passionately about how her mother stood up for what she believed in, even in the face of danger. The strength Lauri showed, and the love her family continues to demonstrate, is truly inspiring. I can’t help but feel a mix of admiration and sadness. It really makes you think about the power of standing firm for one's beliefs in a world that can be so unkind. It's a stark reminder of the dangers faced by those advocating for inclusivity, and I can only imagine the pride Lauri's family must feel, despite their loss. If anyone has thoughts on how best to support families affected by violence like this, I'd love to hear them.
Hey everyone,
I've been following the case about Lauri Carleton, and one thing that really stands out to me is the strength and courage she must have had. Imagine being in her position, knowing the risk of flying a Pride flag in today’s climate, yet choosing to stand firm in her beliefs for the sake of inclusivity and love. It speaks volumes about the kind of person she was and how deeply she cared for her community.
It's truly devastating to see how someone can be filled with so much hate, like Ikeguchi was, to commit such a senseless act. It makes me think about how vital it is to challenge this kind of intolerance and to support those who are actively making a stand against it, like Lauri did every day.
Sending love and strength to her family and friends. May we all continue to honor her memory by fostering the kind of inclusive world she worked so hard for.
Would love to hear your thoughts on how communities can best come together to support LGBTQ+ allies in honoring Lauri’s legacy.
Stay safe and be kind to one another.
