I can't stop thinking about how terrifying it must have been for the neighbors during this whole ordeal. Imagine just going about your regular morning, and then police are at your door, telling you to leave your home because there's a gunman barricaded in your building. It's truly a nightmare scenario. Pasadena is usually such a peaceful community, and something like this really shakes everyone up. I've heard from a friend who lives near there that folks are still on edge, trying to process what happened. My heart goes out to Jamila's family, and also to all the residents who had to live through that chaos. It's hard to feel safe when something so tragic and violent happens right on your doorstep. If nothing else, I hope this leads to more community discussions around domestic violence and supports for those in abusive relationships. It’s a tough conversation but absolutely necessary. Stay safe out there, everyone.
