Has anyone else been struck by how sudden and tragic the Ashcroft case is? I just read about them today, and it’s so difficult to comprehend that something like this could happen to a couple who seemed so dedicated to each other. It's just gut-wrenching to read how Carl and Kathryn were described by their friends—as close-knit and enjoying their new life in California. I can't help but wonder what they were going through privately that might have led to this. My thoughts are definitely with their friends and family, who must be going through unimaginable pain right now. It's always difficult to reconcile the public images of a couple with the private struggles they might have been facing. RIP to both of them.

Has anyone else found it so unsettling how often we hear about situations like the one with the Ashcrofts? ? It’s so hard to understand how a couple so seemingly devoted to each other ends up in such a tragic scenario. I didn’t know them personally but having spent some time in Wigan myself, I remember Pemberton Taxis being a staple. It’s just hard to reconcile the image of a successful business owner with the actions that transpired. My heart goes out to those who knew them, both in the UK and in their new community in California. ? It leaves you to wonder if there were signs that were missed or something more going on behind the scenes. If anyone has more info or thoughts on what might have led to this, I’d be interested to hear. I’m sure the investigators are doing their best, but every piece of the puzzle helps.
