Hi everyone, I recently came across the tragic case of Maurice Bowen's murder on August 25, 2017, and I can't stop thinking about the impact on his family and the community where it happened. It’s truly disheartening to see how many families in Chicago have had their lives turned upside down by gun violence. I was wondering if anyone here might have insights into the community response after Maurice's death? Were there any local initiatives or marches that aimed to promote peace or address gun violence in that area specifically after this incident? I feel like often these stories are about the statistics and headlines, but there's so much happening in the community beyond that. I'm hoping to learn more about how neighbors, local leaders, or organizations have been trying to create change, even amidst such challenging circumstances.
