Hey everyone, Just read more about Hugo Ernesto Cachua's tragic case, and I can't help but feel for his family and friends. It's incredibly difficult to imagine what they're going through, especially with everything still unresolved so many months after the incident. I recently came across some discussions questioning the LAPD's policy on officers retaining their firearms while on extended medical leave. It seems baffling to me that such a policy could allow for potentially risky situations. Shouldn’t there be stricter guidelines to prevent incidents like this from happening? Regardless of the policies, I'm wondering why Officer Corral was still in possession of his firearm. How does one oversee or enforce such a rule, if it even exists? This whole situation brings a lot of questions about accountability and how protocols are sometimes overlooked. I think Cachua's family deserves answers and justice, and I hope the Department of Justice investigation will provide a thorough review. Let's continue to support the family and keep this conversation going. They deserve to see justice served for Hugo. Stay safe, everyone.

Hey everyone, I’ve been following the Hugo Ernesto Cachua shooting closely, and there’s something that's been bothering me. Has anyone else noticed how unusual it is for an officer on medical leave to still have their weapon? I read that LAPD policy usually requires officers on long-term leave to give up their gun, yet Officer Corral somehow kept his. I just can’t wrap my head around why the department would allow an exception to this rule, especially when it involves carrying a firearm. For Hugo’s family, this could have been a preventable tragedy, and my heart goes out to them as they seek justice. I really wonder if this case is going to change anything about how these policies are enforced. Let’s hope the DOJ’s investigation sheds some light on what really happened and perhaps drives meaningful policy reform. Would love to hear everyone’s thoughts on this—do you think this incident will lead to a change in how these situations are handled? Sending love and strength to Hugo's family. <3

Hi everyone, I've been following Hugo Cachua's case and something that really strikes me is the dashcam footage aspect. With technology being so pervasive in our lives, it's devastating to realize that such raw moments of tragedy are captured in these fleeting seconds. In this situation, the dashcam footage might hold key evidence in seeking the truth, but at what cost to those who loved him? Can you imagine looking at those last moments of a loved one over and over again during an investigation? It must be so difficult for Hugo's family to not only relive their loss but also have the public weigh in on a deeply personal tragedy. I genuinely hope the footage helps bring some form of closure or justice for them, even if it can't bring Hugo back. I think it's important that we continue to demand transparency and accountability, particularly when those who are meant to protect us are involved. Sending support and strength to the Cachua family and all those affected by this tragic loss. Let's keep discussing and pushing for changes to prevent such incidents in the future. Thoughts?
