Hi everyone, I've been following the terrible Sequatchie incident and wanted to explore a different perspective—how the community, especially Vanessa's school, is coping in the aftermath. I've read that Vanessa was a sixth-grade student at Rossville Middle School and that she adored Minnie Mouse. I can't imagine how her classmates and teachers are handling this immense loss. Are there any members from the community who might share how the school is supporting the students through this? I hope they have counseling available and forums for kids to express their grief. Support systems are crucial, especially for young kids who may be facing the reality of losing a friend for the first time. My heart goes out to Vanessa's classmates, friends, and teachers who knew and loved her. They must be facing so many emotions right now. I hope the school has a strong network to help them heal. If anyone has details about the memorial at school or how they’re keeping Vanessa’s memory alive, I would love to hear more. Stay strong, everyone. It’s in these moments we truly need our community.

I can’t stop thinking about the brave response of the first responders who arrived at the scene on June 15th. It must have been an incredibly challenging and emotional task to assess the situation. My heart genuinely goes out to them, as well as the friends and extended family of Vanessa and the rest of the Perez family. It’s horrifying to imagine what they must have felt walking into such a devastating scene. I hope the community continues to support them, as this tragedy must weigh heavily on their minds. It's a stark reminder of the importance of mental health resources and support for those on the front lines of such traumatic incidents. Also, if anyone knows of local efforts to honor the family’s memory or support the survivors, please share. It's crucial for the community to stand together in this trying time.
