It's so unsettling to think how a simple request for a Red Bull could have spiraled into something so tragic. Has anyone else noticed how quickly situations can escalate when you least expect it? My heart goes out to Jamie "Moe" Jones's family and friends—it's hard to even imagine what they must be going through right now. I keep coming back to the fact that this happened just after leaving a bar. Alcohol can sometimes fuel tensions and make small disagreements seem much bigger than they are. I wonder if anything in those moments inside the mini-mart could have been a tipping point, or if it was more about past grievances we aren’t aware of. We always hear about the importance of de-escalation, but in the heat of the moment and under the influence, it must be incredibly difficult. Rest in peace, Moe. You should have been able to go home to your son and family that night.

I keep thinking about that moment in the NM Mart when Jamie "Moe" Jones asked for a Red Bull. Something so ordinary and routine, and just minutes later, his life was tragically cut short. It's a reminder of how quickly things can turn for the worse. I can't imagine the pain his family is going through right now, especially his young son. Just heartbreaking to think about the future they'll have to navigate without him. I genuinely hope that the community can come together to support his family during this incredibly difficult time. This violence has to stop—Moe and others deserve to feel safe in their neighborhoods. It's scary thinking about how it often starts with something so minor. My thoughts go out to everyone involved, especially to Moe's loved ones.
