Has anyone else been keeping an eye on the response from local law enforcement in Braddock since Erica Vail's tragic death? I understand that there was some confusion about police availability at the scene, with an Allegheny County Housing Authority officer being the first to respond. It's just unimaginable to me how Erica's family and others in the neighborhood must feel knowing the police weren't immediately there when this life-altering incident took place. The fact that the Pennsylvania State Police have taken over is somewhat reassuring, but still, the absence of immediate local police presence during a crisis is worrying. What's everyone's take on this? Do you think this incident might push for changes in how police patrol is conducted in neighborhoods like these? Sending my deepest condolences to Erica's family; I truly hope they find the peace and justice they deserve.
