I've been digging into this case recently and came across some mentions of jurisdictional issues between local authorities and those on the Fort Hall Indian Reservation. This must have been such a frustrating obstacle for investigators, and likely a source of pain for Milo's family over the years. I can't imagine how difficult it is to feel like justice for a loved one is just slipping through the cracks due to red tape and boundaries that shouldn’t be there when it comes to solving a murder.
The issue of jurisdiction must have been especially challenging in 1959 when communication and coordination across different law enforcement agencies were nowhere near as advanced as today. It got me wondering if this might have stalled certain leads or delayed crucial early actions in the investigation.
I'm curious if anyone else has insights, particularly about how cases were handled between local and reservation authorities around that time. Maybe shedding some light on those procedures could give us a clue about what might have gone overlooked in the chaos. It would be a step closer to understanding what happened to Milo and possibly finding some way to reinvigorate interest in his case today. My thoughts are with every family member still hoping for answers.
