Has anyone else been following the tragic case of Steven Wayne Weier in Winston-Salem? As challenging as it is to process the circumstances, my heart really goes out to his family, especially considering how unexpected and shocking this must be for them. I’ve been reading about Steven's life, and it’s clear he was quite talented and respected in his field. There’s something profoundly sad about losing someone who had so much to offer in terms of skill and personality. The whole situation raises important questions about the surge in violence and the role self-defense plays in such tragic incidents. It’s worrying to think that, so far, Winston-Salem has seen 37 homicides this year, especially when compared to last year’s numbers. I can't help but wonder what the community can do to address this growing trend and make it safer for everyone involved. More importantly, I hope the investigation leads to a deeper understanding of what happened that night. If anyone knows more about community efforts to tackle this issue or strategies that have worked in the past, I’d love to hear them.
