It’s truly difficult to wrap my head around the increasing violence in our communities. I didn’t know Niyja Saquan Spain or Taemon Kirby personally, but I’m from Brunswick County, and the news hit close to home. What stands out to me is the eeriness of the MainStay Suites location. I pass by there occasionally, and it never occurred to me that something so tragic could unfold right in that parking lot.
My thoughts are with the families of both young men. No parent should have to bury their child, especially like this. Has anyone heard more about the person taken into custody? It seems odd that the police haven't released more info after holding someone. I pray justice is served swiftly. If there’s anyone here who can help in any capacity, don’t hesitate to reach out to the detectives involved.

I’ve been thinking a lot about Niyja Saquan Spain’s family since this whole incident. I can’t even imagine what they’re going through, especially with so many questions still unanswered. Losing someone so young is unimaginable, and it must be even more devastating without all the information.
