I can’t stop thinking about the role that Club One17 played in this tragic event. It’s infuriating that a place meant for fun and camaraderie could be at the center of such a terrible crime. The fact that the club was closed for fire and safety violations shortly after only adds fuel to the fire. How many other venues might be ticking time bombs simply because safety protocols aren’t being enforced? It feels like a wake-up call not just for Greensboro, but for any city where nightlife is a big part of the community. Devonte should still be here, and it breaks me to think that maybe, just maybe, this could have been prevented if the club’s safety had been better managed. If nothing else, I hope his loss prompts significant changes in how these venues operate because we owe that to him and his family.

Hey everyone, I was just thinking about the implications of Club One17 getting temporarily closed after the awful incident on Feb 25th. Nightlife can be such an integral part of communities, but the closure due to fire and safety violations makes me wonder about the broader safety issues at these venues. It's worrying to think how many places might not meet safety standards, potentially putting so many people at risk. I'm hoping this incident at least pushes other establishments to prioritize safety, so we can prevent such tragedies in the future. My heart goes out to Devonte's family and friends. It's always tough to hear about lives lost so young and so senselessly. What do you all think about the measures being taken by local authorities to improve downtown safety? Any thoughts or updates you've come across?
