Hello everyone,
I wanted to create a space to talk about how deeply this loss has affected the community. I've been thinking a lot about Angel's role in the neighborhood. It’s clear from everything I’ve read that Sayyos Rios was more than just a friendly face; he was a pillar among those who knew him. Stories about him lending a hand when needed or simply being there for folks when times were tough really stick with me.
I think it's important we take a moment to honor Angel's legacy and everything he left behind—a family that's grieving, of course, but also a community that's trying to come to terms with losing someone so kind-hearted. It’s haunting to think that one random, senseless act could take away someone who brought so much good to the world around him.
What also stays with me is the account from his brother. Luis Perez sharing those final words of "Bro, help" is so raw and stays with you. I can’t even imagine the weight of that moment for him. This case has been beyond tragic, and it’s a reminder of how precious life is, and how much we should value the time we have with our loved ones.
Please feel free to share any thoughts or memories of Angel. I think keeping these stories alive is a small way of continuing his impact and honoring his memory in the tight-knit community that cherished him. Sending thoughts and strength to his family and everyone grappling with this loss.

Hey everyone, I’ve been following the heartbreaking case of Sayyos “Angel” Rios, and I came across something that really struck a chord with me. I was thinking about the family dynamic he left behind. Angel was a father of six and even a grandfather. Imagine being left with such a void in your family. It’s hard not to think about all those milestones and moments with his kids and grandkids that he will miss, and even more how those children and grandkids will miss having such a loving presence in their lives. It truly puts into perspective how gun violence ripples through a community and family. The fact that he was just trying to enjoy a peaceful evening at his home makes it more tragic. Rios was known for his generosity, and it's clear that his loss leaves a significant emotional and practical gap for those who leaned on him. It just makes me wonder, how do families cope with such sudden and senseless loss? My thoughts are definitely with them as they navigate life without him.
