Does anyone else think the school's response was lacking after Evan's tragic passing? I heard from a friend who attends Aurora High that there was just a brief announcement about Evan and barely any mention of the circumstances or how students can protect themselves from similar situations. This seems like such a critical moment to educate students on the seriousness of online threats and the importance of reaching out for help. I hope the administration takes this as an opportunity to bring in experts or hold workshops on internet safety and mental health support. We all need to do everything we can to ensure our kids feel safe and informed in this digital world. The Boettler family is already doing their part with Evan's Voice, and I think the school should follow their lead. What do others think? Have schools been doing enough in these situations?

I've been following Evan's story, and my heart truly goes out to his family. With everything that's come to light, I'm particularly focused on how this ordeal uncovered the insidious nature of online predators. It really hits home how vulnerable our loved ones can be in the digital space. The fact that Evan felt so trapped is a stark reminder of the psychological hold these predators can have. It baffles me that someone can be so twisted as to exploit a young person for their own gain. I'm hoping that as more people become aware of these tactics, we can create a safer online environment, especially for teens who may not share their struggles. Has anyone else here taken any steps to educate their kids or community about this? I’m thinking of getting involved in some way and would love to hear any advice or suggestions from those who have already been proactive. Let's do whatever we can to prevent this from happening to another family.
