I just can’t stop thinking about Sebastian Nieroda and how his sudden loss has impacted his classmates at McManus Middle School. My thoughts are with these young students who now have to deal with such an unfathomable situation. It’s essential that the community continues to rally around them and provide all possible emotional support. There's something incredibly difficult about processing the loss of a friend at this age, especially under such tragic circumstances. I hope the school and local community leaders continue to push for mental health resources and support systems in place for these kids. It’s crucial that none of them feel alone during this time. And for those students, parents, and teachers who knew Sebastian and Natalia, my heart goes out to you. It’s important to look out for each other now more than ever and find ways to honor the memories of these young lives. Healing as a community will take time, but it’s the support and compassion we show one another that will eventually lead us forward. Stay strong.
