I’ve been following the case from Irvington, and it still feels like an awful, surreal nightmare. How does someone shoot a person like Rick, with such a zest for life and talent? It’s so gut-wrenching to me. I didn’t know Rick personally, but I do know some of his friends. They always talked about his cooking and the incredible meals he made—I mean, that’s how they’ll remember him, right? Bringing people together around food and art.
What makes this even harder is not having any answers. Every day, it’s like we’re waiting for that one lead or tip to come through. My heart goes out to his loved ones, who must be enduring the worst kind of pain right now. If anyone knows something, please don’t hesitate to reach out to the authorities.
