I keep thinking about the community where Kharee Jamar Scott lived and how they must be coping with this terrible loss. Portsmouth is a place where many people know each other or at least know of each other, and something like this shakes everyone to their core. I'm particularly concerned about how young people in the area are feeling right now—having to grapple with the reality of losing someone who was just like them. It's important for us to think about how we can support one another in the wake of such tragedy and not let Kharee's death be in vain. Are there any local groups or initiatives focusing on preventing gun violence in Portsmouth? I think it would be incredibly beneficial for the community to come together to prevent future incidents, in honor of Kharee's memory. Anyone have thoughts or know of any resources?
