I can't stop thinking about the location of this tragic incident. I drive by that gas station across from Hampton Roads Executive Airport almost daily, and it's eerie now to think about what happened there. It's a spot so many of us in the community know, and it really brings it home when something like this happens so close to places we frequent. My heart goes out to Jonte Wilson’s family and friends during this incredibly difficult time. It's hard not to wonder what led to that moment and how a place so ordinary could become the site of such a tragedy. I'm hopeful that justice will prevail, and that Jonte's loved ones find peace somehow. If anyone lives nearby, let me know if there's a vigil or any way we can support his family in memory of him.
