I've been following Shaquan Malik Logan's case, and something that's really troubling me is the fact that Lamont Ortiz-Bossie and Savannah Patrick were out on bond for such serious prior charges. It makes me wonder about the system and how it handles bail for violent offenses. Ortiz-Bossie had attempted murder and other charges from earlier this year, and Patrick was facing similar charges from last year. Was there enough consideration of the risk they might pose to others when allowing them out on bond? I can't begin to imagine the pain Shaquan's family is going through right now, knowing this tragedy might have been preventable if the suspects were held accountable earlier. My thoughts are with them, and I hope justice is served.
Has anyone else been following the case of Shaquan Malik Logan in Sumter? I can't stop thinking about how someone so young with his whole life ahead of him ended up like this. I've been wondering about the fact that both Ortiz-Bossie and Patrick were already out on bond for serious charges when this happened. It's really concerning how these violent crimes keep happening, even when individuals are already facing legal consequences for previous incidents. How often do courts consider the full risk involved when setting bond for people accused of violent crimes, especially multiple offenses? It's just hard to comprehend how these situations escalate, and it makes me think about what preventative measures could be put in place to avert tragedies like this in the future. Sending thoughts to Shaquan's family during this unimaginably difficult time.
Hi everyone,
I was reading about Shaquan Malik Logan's case, and something that stood out to me was the fact that both suspects, Lamont Ortiz-Bossie and Savannah Patrick, were already out on bond for serious charges at the time of this tragedy. It’s so unsettling to think that these individuals, who were facing attempted murder charges themselves, were back out in society. It makes me wonder how our justice system can better manage such cases to prevent further violence.
I can’t imagine the grief and pain that Shaquan’s family must be experiencing. It's crucial for communities to come together to support families like his and to push for systemic changes that might prevent future tragedies.
If anyone has more insight into how bail decisions are made in cases like this, or how to initiate change, I’d love to hear your thoughts.
Stay safe, everyone.
