I've been following the tragic case of Jeremy Brown in Columbus, and one aspect that really stands out to me is the chilling role social media played in this incident. The fact that the argument and subsequent events were streamed live on Facebook is just harrowing. I can't even begin to imagine the psychological impact on family and friends who might have witnessed it live. It's so disconcerting how technology can sometimes expose the most vulnerable moments in people's lives. My heart goes out to Jeremy's loved ones who are trying to cope with this public broadcast of their private pain. I hope we can all learn to be more vigilant and supportive when we notice signs of domestic discord, even online. This community needs healing, and I hope justice for Jeremy brings some peace.
