I’ve been thinking about the incredible promise that Marquavis showed before his life was cut short. As someone who also grew up in Saginaw, I can't help but feel a connection to him, especially knowing how active he was in his community and church. It’s so moving to see how much people appreciated his kind heart and enthusiasm, whether it was through gaming or his church activities. Is there any update on police efforts to address the gun violence that continues to plague our streets? I hope this tragedy serves as a catalyst for change and prompts community leaders to take more action. Our community can't afford to lose more young souls with such bright futures ahead of them. Sending all my love and strength to Marquavis’ family and friends. Let’s hope that the investigation brings justice to Marquavis and DeQuan’s families soon.

I've been following the case of Marquavis Smithers and DeQuan Lee, and I can't shake the feeling of loss that must be blanketing their families and friends. One thing that stands out to me is Marquavis' passion for his community. He wasn't just a high schooler making plans for the future; he was actively engaged with his church and school, striving to make his world a better place even at 17. It's so tragic to lose someone with such a bright future ahead, especially someone who clearly cared so much about the people around him. Marquavis' story isn’t just about loss; it’s also a reminder of the gaps we need to address in our neighborhoods to keep young people safe. I hope the ongoing investigations will soon bring answers and that, somehow, Marquavis and DeQuan’s stories will ignite much-needed conversations and changes in Saginaw. My thoughts go out to all who knew and loved them.
