I knew Lori back in 1981 when we were driving for Ft Lauderdale Yellow Cab. Lori was a tortured soul who constantly sought oblivion. She was a member of the Junkie fraternity who were driving Taxi in those days, and more than once, she would be around someones house half comatose on opiate. I had the feeling she had endured horrendous abuse as a child and just wanted to be comfortably numb. I knew her stepfather, Warren Bennet, who hinted that she was not very well. After her death, the cab drivers grapevine in Ft Lauderdale thought that she had overdosed and died on someone, who then dumped her body in a remote area to distance themselves from it. Mainly to avoid police interest in their own drug activity. Cab drivers are very familiar with the remote areas in Broward and Palm Beach County. She was out there for several days in the Florida summer sun before she was found, which would have made a full autopsy a challenge to say the least. If they had done a proper blood screen, that would have found a lethal amount of opiate iin her system. Lori is at peace now in the arms of God. No more pain. I hope this helps. Thomas Gardner
