I've been following the case of Antione D. Watkins, and I can't help but think about the ripple effect this tragedy has on his local community. It's so moving to see how people are coming together to support each other, but it's also a reminder of the everyday fear these senseless acts of violence create for everyone living nearby. I grew up in a neighborhood where people knew each other and looked out for one another—it’s heartbreaking that for Antione’s neighbors, this has been disrupted by such a violent act. It’s amazing, though, how the community is uniting, lighting virtual candles and sharing memories. We need more of this solidarity to honor his memory and push for justice. I genuinely hope that the outpouring of support helps Antione’s family find a little comfort during this tough time. It's crucial that anyone with information steps forward so the authorities can catch whoever is responsible. Justice matters, not just for the family, but for the community still searching for peace as well. Stay strong, Milwaukee.
